Employment Opportunity for an Innis Resident! – Maintenance Assistant
We’re looking for someone living in the Innis Residence this fall to fill the role of part-time On-Call Maintenance Assistant. This casual on-call student staff member will assist Carlos, our Building Services Manager in the overall maintenance and repair of the Residence. The Maintenance Assistant staff member will assist with minor repairs; identification, inventory and repairs as required of both large, small and on-going maintenance projects; liaising with University maintenance personnel and external contractors; assisting with the upkeep of the facilities; conducting inspections of furniture and providing appropriate maintenance; and performing miscellaneous tasks related to the upkeep of the Residence property.
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for responding to maintenance issues after regular business hours in the absence of the Building Services Manager, must live in the Residence for the duration of their contract, and will be paid an hourly rate of $15.00 for hours worked.
Hours will vary depending upon availability, and tasks required, but averages 6-10 hours a week, with additional hours available during the Winter Closure period (if available).

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Admissions & Operations, the Front Desk Staff play a key role in three areas of the Residence’s operation: handling the reception duties of the Residence, maintaining the safety and security of the Residence and all residents, and relaying information to the Residence Office and other Residence staff. As this is a front-line position with regular contact with residents, visitors, Residence and University staff and the general public, tact and respectfulness are necessary prerequisites.
Front Desk staff work approximately 9 to 12 hours per week (three to four shifts) and are paid an hourly rate of $12.73 for hours worked.
